Feature Requests

I may not have found all of the features just yet, but I figures that I manually needed to add all of my vacation and holiday periods, which is probably not the way most people want to go! There might be a way to import them from the Calendar app? Also, in order to set a day as vacation or holiday, we need to go into the statistics tab and configure target hours at the top. This is a bit much…

The title is a bit obscure. This is the problem: If I forget to turn off my timer at the end of the day, it keeps running all night and into the next day. When I realise this has happened, it's added 30 hours or whatever to my timesheet. If I stop the timer at this point, open the Window and click on 'yesterday', when the timing started, I get a line that shows yesterday's date, the start time, and the current time (in this case 10.10), plus a total time in excess of 24 hours (see first image in attached file). So now I click on the end time and try to enter yesterday afternoon's actual end time (say, 15.43). When I do this, the timing still thinks the end date is today, not yesterday (second image in attached file). The only way I can convince it to move the time back to yesterday is to change the total hours from, in this case, 31h30m to, say, 8h0m, and then set the end time. It would be nice if, say, I could click on the little » character in the time range and have a pop-up menu that lets me tell it to move the time back to yesterday's date — or something like that.

For me it would be helpful to see the daily total hours directly in timing window w/o having to change to "Group by day and task"

Timeframe is not showing the names of the days of the week. You have to pull down the calendar to see them. Wouldn’t it be nice to show them all the time, like a freezed first row in Numbers or Excel?

In the list of events, it'd be a lot faster to be able to click on the AM/PM to switch them rather than clicking/tabbing to it and then hitting A or P. The spacebar could also toggle for those not using the mouse/trackpad.

I know that most freelancers will have billings per the hour. I would have a few feature requests: would it be possible to choose the currency we use for freelancing, if different from system default? I understand that handling multiple currencies would be a nightmare (unless you added one total per currency to avoid having to handle exchange rates… would work too). would it be possible to include billings at a fixed price? When I publish for journals, they basically give me so much for the article. I would need to select all of the timings for that piece, and add how much they are going to pay for it. This could also be on a task basis, but god I am going to have a ton of them. I see there is a whole system for tracking Unbilled, Billed and Paid, but I have no idea how they work. Does not seem very intuitive to me. Maybe just add the option along with the “is billable“ drop-down?

At the top of the Timings Window there are useful controls that change status only when you click the icon. My suggestion is to make clickable the whole area, the icon AND the text, instead of just the icon.

Quite often a task for me represents a project with a start/end date and a budgeted number of hours. It would be cool to see how I'm tracking against this. I.e., assume a linear use of hours from start to end date and show a graph of the actuals. There could of course be sub-tasks that have to be included. This may be related to the work around billing.

Like other people, I think the menu popup would need improvement. I basically like te Timelime version a lot more. It was nicer and integrated with the overall look of the app. You could probably start from there in terms of design, keeping the search bar on top of everything, and add a possibility to switch between all tasks and a recent tasks view. Then use the old bottom part (dark) to print the three counters (time today, this week and under/overtime). The old icons at the bottom were perfect and I don't think text is needed, as it clutters the interface.

In the menu bar drop down it'd be nice to toggle between "Recent Tasks" (which is there now) and "All Tasks". Easy enough to search but also would be nice to scroll through the list when needed.
